Today Jeff and I had the opportunity to attend Jeff's cousin's wedding in Salt Lake City. Colton is such a great young man! As we have had the opportunity to associate with him over the years, I have appreciated his humility and kindness. At the last Thompson reunion, Colton patiently worked with all the younger boys to show them how to use their paintball guns for a paintball war. Colton made sure each boy felt like that boy was an excellent marksman...even if they didn't "win". We have enjoyed associating with Colton and are excited for the new chapter in his life. Priscilla is a doll. She is just as sweet and kind as Colton is. We were grateful to be able to attend their wedding and celebrate that day with them. The ceremony was held in the Salt Lake temple followed by a luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
I enjoyed not only associating with the family members that were present, but spending a kid-free day with Jeff! It's not often we get that opportunity...especially lately...so after the luncheon, we decided to wander around City Creek for awhile before going home. As we were waiting to cross the street from Temple Square, I noticed a woman, who looked vaguely familiar, waiting to cross the road from the other side. It was Sandra Fernandez! She was a member in the ward I served in Montevideo, Uruguay! I couldn't believe it! What a small world! What an amazing encounter! I love that I have lifelong friends in Uruguay...even though distance separates us. It was a perfect surprise for a beautiful day!
