Happy St. Patricks Day!

We are two days into our recommended social distancing where school and church have been canceled along with many of the other extra-curricular activities. So far we are all surviving, but I can tell the social isolation and online school work is going to kill Danny! Jonas and I are kind of used to chilling at home. Last year, I did an in-home preschool with him so not much has changed for us; however, we are going to miss going to music class, gymnastics, and ice skating lessons...and just plain getting out of the house and off our 5-acres. I guess it could be worse though, and I'm thankful for what we have and can still do...like celebrate St. Patricks Day! That's right...Lucky the leprechaun disobeyed any quarantine or social distancing procedures to sneak into our house late last night and leave us a treasure hunt! Jonas woke up first and was unwilling to wait for Danny (which was probably for the best because waking a teenager is a dangerous thing!) so off we went. Jonas was actually trickier than the Leprechaun because he quickly found the treasure even before going on the treasure hunt. Still, we followed the clues and finally found a green, gold, and rainbow stash of goodies and toys.

The rest of the day was spent in our "normal" routine - school work, crafts, chores, playing outside, music class online! (thank heavens for modern technology!), watching live videos from zoos, authors, museums and more. It has actually been a little fun to virtually explore some of these places. Jonas really loves the zoo videos, especially the baby hippo, Fiona, from the Cincinnati Zoo.

For dinner, we finished off our St. Patrick's Day observance with some Shepherds Pie and a fruit rainbow. Jonas also decided he wanted to make a chocolate cake today then decorated it with rainbow sprinkles and marshmallows from the cereal, Lucky Charms. I feel very lucky to have life as good as we do!
