Today Amber turned 16! She has been waiting for this day for a looooong time! It has to be rough to be the youngest one in your age group, but now she has all the rights and privileges of her friends! Dating, driving...all the things that draw a parent to his/her knees!! After a quick birthday breakfast of cantaloupe and cinnamon toast crunch (her choice crazy girl!), she spent most of the day at play practice, but the boys and I managed to steal her away for a quick birthday dinner at Café Rio before she had 20+ friends over to party the night away. It wasn't until the following day (Sunday 18th) that we really got to celebrate with her. Grandma and Grandpa Southwick came over along with Aunt Katie, Aunt Krystle, Uncle Jordan, Uncle Scott, Kaia, Aunt Kamile, Caiden and Teionna. Since my kids aren't fond of cake, we had birthday brownie sundaes instead then Amber opened her gifts. It was a great birthday weekend! I have only known Amber for a year of those 16 years of life, but she is truly a joy to have around. She is always smiling and laughing. She loves life and loves people. She is so generous and caring and forgiving. I have much to learn from her. Happy birthday Amber!! We love you!
The birthday breakfast
We surprised her by setting up her party and getting balloons.

Some of Amber's friends...picture taken stealthily from the living room window to avoid being that annoying mom who's always taking pictures. :)
Perfect dress to wear on your birthday. ;) Happy Birthday Amber! Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you.
