Happy Birthday Jeff!
This is a two part post because, as much as Jeff probably didn't care to, we celebrated his birthday in a couple of ways this year. First, I hosted a family dinner at the house on Sunday, October 9th. Earlier in the month, I had introduced the song, Crowded Table by the Highwomen. In the song, it discussed how they want a crowded table and a place for everyone by the fire. It goes on to talk about how everyone belongs even though we are all a little broken. As we listened to the song, we decided it needed to be our family anthem...and Jeff decided he wanted to have a tin foil dinner for his birthday. It was a little out of the ordinary but lots of fun. It was nice to have chairs around our fire pit and enjoy a beautiful fall evening while we celebrated the man who has made it all possible. He is the glue that holds our family together. He is my best friend, my partner in crime, and my better half. I can't imagine doing life without him. He is my calm in the storms of life, my rock when life is unstable, my safe harbor when trials overwhelm me. He is the most generous, faithful, family-devoted man that I know. He inspires me to do better and be better as we journey through life. As much as he doesn't like celebrating his birthday, he deserves to be celebrated!
