SHHS Football 2022

"I just want to do it all!" That's what Danny said as we asked why he wanted to play football this year. He did one year of tackle football when he was in elementary school then never again expressed an interest in playing. However, he wants to do it all this year! And why not? He's a senior and it keeps him incredibly busy (and not into trouble...win-win-win!). Danny toyed with the idea of playing at the beginning of the season, but the cost associated with it was a little steep so he decided not to. Fast forward a few weeks into the season and Danny was recruited to help fill slots from players who had been injured. He was excited to have the experience. To be honest, he didn't get a lot of play time. In fact, he only played in a couple of JV games, but he did awesome! He played defensive tackle. He sacked the quarterback a few times and had some other excellent tackles. It was a little disappointing that he didn't get any varsity playing time, but he worked hard in practices and at least got to dress for the last home game. Moreover, because he was a senior, he was recognized on the field during that game. Carter and Everly got to escort him onto the field where he met up with Dad and I. He earned that moment. Way to go Danny!
