Today we celebrated Amber's homecoming...even though she's been home for a couple weeks. Today she was able to speak in church about her experiences on her mission. Prior to that, we hosted a luncheon at the house with yummy soups, rolls, and sheet cakes. Amber really enjoyed seeing family and friends that she has missed over the last year and a half.
After the luncheon, we were able to hear Amber report on her mission. I think my favorite part of listening to my daughter report on her experiences was that she didn't give a travel log. She simply bore testimony of the truths she discovered and the faith that was strengthened. She testified of God's love. She didn't list people she met or places she lived; instead, she reported on the life-changing moments where her perspective changed and she came closer to Christ. I am grateful for her desire to serve a mission and for the positive changes it has had on her. I too love my Savior and I know He loves me. Faith and family...what more could we ask for?
