Dallin's ordination and seminary graduation!

Today was another big day for Dallin! (I'm pretty sure Amber and Dallin will dominate the blog for the next month or so.) Today Dallin was given the Melchizedek priesthood and ordained to the office of an Elder. This is such a huge step for him! With the conferral of the higher priesthood, he is given the privilege and responsibility of blessing the lives of others...and I know he'll do great. Dallin has always had a soft heart. (In fact, his is a sympathetic crier...but don't tell him I said anything!) He loves deeply. He loves his family. He loves his friends, but most importantly, he loves his Savior. Dallin will do well as a representative of Jesus Christ to the people of the Dominican Republic.

These three have been friends forever! So glad they have each other. Tyler, Dallin & Tanner.
Following his ordination, Jeff and I (and Jonas who didn't want to stay home at the last minute) attended his seminary graduation. He has participated in 4 years of religious scripture study. Prior to the graduation start, some mean moms (myself included) made their boys take pictures together with the flags of the countries they will be serving in. These boys have grown up together. They have gone through the young men's youth program at church together. They are great kids! I truly feel that a young man's (or young woman's) success or failure in high school depends greatly on the magnitude of his friends. Dallin was blessed with great friends. These friends are about to embark on an indescribable journey. I'm grateful for the faith that inspires them, the determination that propels them, and the strength that sustains them. Congrats Dallin!
