It's official! Amber and Jacob are engaged! We couldn't be more thrilled for these two. As parents, we are grateful that our daughter found a worthy young man. I know "perfect" may be a little optimistic, but these too are so well balanced that "perfect" is the only adjective that seems to fit. Marriage is a big decision and can be very scary at times. There is no crystal ball to see into the future. There are no guarantees. There will be trying life situations and differences of opinions. But as long as two people are working towards a common goal and can maintain kindness, honesty, love, and respect, there is nothing that can separate them. We are excited for Jacob and Amber to be united for eternity. (I know the boys are really excited to have a "big" brother!) It's going to be a whirlwind couple of months as we prepare for their wedding and Dallin's farewell. There are big events and huge changes coming for our little family! My heart is full of joy...and a little sorrow as I witness the evolution of our family. Selfishly I am sad that the kids are growing up and moving on, but as a parent, I couldn't be more proud of the decisions they are making. Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong!
(Jacob did a good job on the proposal! He left her several notes with instructions as to where to go and how to prepare herself. Ultimately, it led Amber to the Payson temple where a final note with a bride and groom bear were waiting for her. As she finished reading the letter, Jacob approached her with the ring...and she said YES!)
