How does time fly so fast?! This week I was rummaging through old pictures and came across several of Dallin when I first came into the family. He was so little! I can't believe that was nearly 7 years ago! Now here he is...ready to take on the world (with some trepidation)! We could not be more proud of Dallin. He has always been an obedient, good-hearted, diligent, determined, disciplined, kind, loyal, faithful young man. In the next 2 months, he'll graduate from high school and religious seminary, be ordained to the office of an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, go through the temple for the first time, then leave to serve a two year proselyting mission in the Dominican Republic. I still shake my head in disbelief that we've come this far. I'm incredulous to the fact that he is an adult and moving on with his life; yet, I couldn't be more proud of the choices and decisions he is making. As is normally the case with teens/young adults, we knew Dallin would be spending the evening of his birthday with friends so we had a family birthday fiesta/Cinco de Mayo party the Sunday (May 5) before his birthday and a fun birthday breakfast with gifts the morning of (Saturday, May 11). That evening, he went across the street to celebrate his birthday with all his friends at the Chisholm's house. I am grateful that he has such an amazing group of friends...and friends' parents. It truly does take a village to raise a child...and Dallin had an incredible village! Happy birthday Dallin!
