Tonight we finished out our 12+ acts of kindness (these were actually #13 & #14). Even though we reached #12 on Sunday, we had to finish these two because they are some of our favorites. We first candy cane "bombed" the new Spanish Fork hospital parking lot then we got to do our (or at least the boys') absolute favorite act - the Drive thru. Because we were in SF, we got to do a few different drive thrus this year, like Chick-fil-A (which made Jonas really happy). We made it through 5 different drive thrus. It's not the most we've done, but we all felt pleased with how much we were able to do and how many smiles we got to see on people's faces. We even saw one car pay it forward and offer to pay for the next car in line. I think what I miss most about the holiday season is the added measure of kindness, compassion, and patience. I know we all talk about how we need to carry that on through the year, but it doesn't seem to last...at least not like does during December. Still, I'm grateful to spread a little extra kindness during the holidays and hope to be more aware of how I can carry that on past the new year.
