Live Nativity

Tonight the YM and YW staged a live nativity at the church. Because of the large number of youth in our ward (and because it's FREEZING outside), they broke the kids up into 2 groups. While one group was posing in the nativity scene, the other group was making gingerbread temples inside. After I picked Danny up from scouts, we ran over to the church to see the production. We have some amazing youth leaders in our ward! They really care about these kids and about helping them to build a solid moral foundation upon which to lean when the world crumbles around them. Both girls participated in the "choir" that sang at the Nativity and Dallin was the "Little Drummer Boy". Seeing my kids learn and grow and develop strong testimonies always brings tears to my eyes. Tonight was a teary-eyed mommy moment. I am proud of Laurin, Amber and Dallin (and Daniel...even though he was too busy running around with his friends to even care about the nativity). I am amazed at their strength and resilience in spite of all they've been exposed to and have endured. They are truly examples to me. I love you guys!
One of the advantages of living a rural life is that you have easy access to a cow, sheep and a donkey for the nativity. Amber is in the long blue coat in the choir. Dallin has a green head covering inside the "manger".
