Today was just another of the many busy days in the Southwick family (or maybe I'm the only one who feels busy!). These next couple of weeks are going to fly by between all the end of the year activities and a mini-Southwick family reunion! Have I mentioned my organizational skills are being tested and refined?! But in all seriousness, I wouldn't have it any other way. I look forward to participating in all my kids' activities and to building lifelong memories with family. In any case, today started out with a field trip to Payson City Library. Danny's class (and the other 2nd grade classes) walked to the small library to go on a tour and learn about their summer reading program. I was happy to volunteer to go on the field trip because (1) I hadn't yet been on a field trip with Danny and (2) I wanted to see the library (I was curious to see if there was a good book selection for being such a small library - there was) and learn about the summer programs. I remember going to our city library when I was young and participating in the summer reading programs. I loved getting the stickers and prizes. I think this started my love of reading. I hope it will help Danny (and Dallin) feel more motivated to read over the summer too. He seemed pretty excited about it. I enjoyed the couple hours we spent there.
The kids got to create paper plate hedgehogs to remind them to "dig into reading".
What a cute little boy!!!
That evening the girls had their last choir concert of the year. I am so proud of their hard work and dedication to the choir! Trust me, there have been countless hours of practices, festivals, etc. They both sang beautifully. I enjoyed being there to support them. I am excited to see/listen to more next year!
