This was the second weekend in a row that Jeff has been gone. Both weekends he has been gone Thursday through Saturday. He has been receiving a specialized scout training for leaders. Initially, he wasn't thrilled about going, but he has actually enjoyed the training and has learned a lot. In any case, last weekend passed quickly because I had family in town. This weekend was going to be different. There weren't really any events planned or visitors coming so we made our own fun! On Thursday (April 30), I headed up to Orem to pick up a few things at a craft store for some church projects I needed to complete. While I was there, I found some cute frames in the clearance section that would look great in the nursery. That then spiraled into a day of "nesting". I haven't been able to really start putting the nursery together because we need to move the boys to the downstairs bedrooms first, but it hasn't stopped me from thinking about and planning a few things. I bought a couple other small decor items then decided to take a couple hours to go register for baby gifts at Babies R Us. I had so much fun! It was a little overwhelming sorting through all the non-essential baby items and deciding what I really needed, but it actually helped me get a little more organized with what purchases I still need to personally make (e.g., crib mattress, changing pad, etc.). I can't wait to meet this little guy in July! I hope he knows how much he is already thought about and loved!!
Friday was a fun filled day with my other boys. Since Jeff was out of town, I decided to do a date night with Dallin and Danny. We started our night with Dallin's track meet. I pulled Danny out of school early to join me. It was fun watching Dallin compete. He is really fast! Even though he may not have the stride other taller boys have, he can keep up. Here are a couple videos and pics from his events.

Me and my cute boys! |
After the track meet, we grabbed some dinner at Subway then bought goodies at Walmart to take to the movie - Avengers: Age of Ultron! The boys have been dying to see this movie! They were so excited. I have to admit that I was pretty excited to go see it as well. I like these superhero movies. I remember my brothers having all the comics when we were young. It was a good movie...and a fun night with my boys.
Saturday the boys and I took off after finishing our chores and headed north. We first stopped in Orem to buy a couple baby items (that were on sale...I still refuse to buy things that are full price) then we ran over to Hobby Lobby so the boys could start getting ideas for how they want to decorate their rooms once they move downstairs. They have always had hand-me-down furniture and no real room decorations so they are pretty excited to be able to create their own rooms. After we finished there, we attended my cousin's daughter's (Sierra) baptism then joined my cousins and aunt and uncle for a family luncheon afterwards. I love how well the boys fit in. They aren't afraid to join in conversations or get to know new people. It helps that I have such a friendly family as well. The boys had fun at Don and Sandy's house...and they have a new item for their "wish list". Don and his son, Braydon, build these cannons as a way for Braydon to earn money and save for his mission. Don helped the boys set off two of the cannons and now the boys can think of nothing else other than to save money for cannons. Oh boy! That's a dangerous combination: boy and firearms. Watch out West Mountain!
It has been a really fun weekend, but I was glad to see Jeff come home that night. I missed him! I'm grateful to be married to my best friend. I'm glad that we can do things separately, but I really love being together.
