Happy Halloween

Today was a fun-filled, candy-laden day...at least for Danny. The day started with his class party. Jonas and I volunteered to help out. We had a caramel apple station, donut eating, Pie Face, Twister, limbo and so much more. I can't believe this will be the last Halloween class party he'll have like this. It's incredible how quickly time flies!

After the party, the school held its annual Halloween parade. Jonas and I joined Danny in the parade. After all, his costume wouldn't be complete without us.

After school, the boys finally carved their pumpkins. I was going to have Jonas paint his, but he slept through most of the carving process so he just helped the boys finish theirs.

Finally, the evening arrived. We had our traditional (and very healthy) jack-o-lantern pizza dinner with candy corn Rice Krispy treats.

Then it was on to the ward trunk-or-treat. I'm pretty sure Danny visited every car at least twice. I took Jonas around to a couple cars. He hasn't quite caught on to to the concept of begging for candy. I'm sure that will come! He seemed more interested in just watching the kids in their costumes coming up to get candy from us.

To end our day, I took Danny and Jonas (Dallin was too cool for trick-or-treating...and he had a friend's party to attend) to Gma Penny's to trick-or-treat. All in all, I think it was a fun Halloween! Now on to Thanksgiving!

AZ to ID

This week the boys had their fall break on Thursday and Friday (10/20-10/21). A couple months ago, Jeff decided to plan a hunting trip this weekend in Idaho with his best friend, Matt, and Matt's son, Michael. Dallin and Daniel have been anticipating this trip for quite some time! Dallin was excited to get a chance to harvest an animal. Danny was just excited to go (he's not old enough to get a tag). Jeff was excited to hang out with Matt and the boys. It was a win-win weekend for everyone. They had a blast! They didn't actually get an animal, but they came back with so many stories about their "hike" (because it was more of a hike than a hunt) and all the crazy stuff they did. (Some of the stories should have just stayed in Idaho! Sheesh! I guess that's what I get for being a "boymom".) It is memories like this that they will treasure forever.

While they were in Idaho, Jonas and I flew to AZ to visit Grandma, Papa, Nichole, Ryan, Tyler and Kate. I think the boys definitely had the better temperatures for the weekend. It was 97 degrees!! I think I've been in Utah long enough now that I've forgotten what Hades feels like. Still, we didn't let it stop us. We had so much fun visiting fall festivals and just relaxing at home. Jonas enjoyed experiencing a carousel and amusement ride for the first time (although "enjoyed" is probably not how he would have put it). We saw animals, rode on pedal bikes, picked pumpkins, posed for pictures, and more. I love this time of year! I love all the fun activities, sounds, tastes, and sights of the holidays. I wish my family was closer to do more things like this together. Still, I'm grateful for the weekend we had...and was grateful to come back to cooler weather and to have all my boys home.

Jonas is a pro traveler! He slept from wheels up to wheels down.

Jonas's first amusement park ride. He wasn't too impressed.

Look! No hands...and no, Jonas wasn't with me.

Another fall festival...this time with Grandma and Papa.

"Are we going on that plane Mommy?"

He slept again!! Lucky me!
