Super Bowl LIV (and super snow?)

Ok...Jeff and I were mildly convinced that we had some sort of super powers when the Tennessee Titans made it to the semi-finals in the NFL playoffs. You see, we have historically take trips to places where the professional teams then win playoff championships (e.g., Boston Red Sox, Patriots, Houston Astros, etc.). Alas, our dreams of marketing our super powers were crushed when the Titans lost to the Chiefs. However, the Chiefs made us proud as they faced off with the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV! We have never followed any specific team, but once the Super Bowl hits, we decidedly choose a team (usually the underdog) to root for...and throw a party! After all, who doesn't love another excuse to gather family and have great food?! Today was just such an occasion and the game (and the commercials) didn't disappoint! Since this year, San Francisco was facing Kansas City, our menu reflected some of the iconic foods of those two cities. Representing KC, we had BBQ and homemade mac and cheese. For SF, we had sourdough bread and yummy ghiradelli chocolate! And, of course, we couldn't stop there! There was a smorgasbord of other appetizers to accompany our meal. Ultimately, the Chiefs pulled out a win in the 4th quarter!

That evening, a "massive" winter storm hit the state...it just missed us. However, because of all the hype, school was cancelled. This is the first snow day that has happened since I've been here and I was disappointingly underwhelmed with it. Still, we braved the snowy roads (they really weren't bad) and decided to see a movie, Dr. Doolittle. Other than that, we just enjoyed an extra day to recover from all our Super Bowl festivities.
