Lincoln's baptism
Today we got to celebrate Lincoln's baptism! He is such a stud! He is seriously the cutest (and slightly mischievous) 8 year old around. We are so proud of him for his willingness to make this covenant to follow Jesus. My parents and Nichole flew into town on Friday (April 11th) to attend the event. We attended the baptism on Saturday morning (April 12th) then spent the rest of the day hanging out. Immediately following the baptism, we all headed to a park to have a picnic and watch Lincoln play a game of flag football. After his game, the majority of the family left to attend to their Saturday chores. Jonas and I stuck around to go to Camden's soccer game, after which, Jonas stuck with the Tanners to go to their piano recital while Nichole and I wandered through the Tulip Festival at Ashton Gardens. Nichole flew home early the next morning, but my parents stuck around for another couple of days, which meant that I got to take them to the Tulip Festival on Monday (April 14th). This years festival was in full bloom. It was so fun to walk around the gardens and soak in all the beauty of the spring colors. I especially loved walking through the Tree of Life display with all of them. There is always a greater sense of peace when you surround yourself with depictions of Jesus. It was nice to have those quiet moments to reflect of His life, His miracles, and His teachings, especially as we anticipate the upcoming Easter holiday. It was a weekend of family, fun, and faith.
