How is it April already?! It seems like we were just celebrating the new year and now it's April Fools day...which Mother Nature celebrated with a little snow so it felt like a cruel Spring joke. Still, it was a week of warm-ish weather and no commitments! Spring Break is like a little taste of what's to come for the summer. I love it! Jonas does too...until he has to go back for the last 6 weeks of school. Because of all our travel in March (and because we were waiting for Baby Irons to make her appearance), we kept our Spring Break activities local. Jonas and I decided to do at least one fun thing each day. Monday and Tuesday mornings Jonas had a fun taekwondo camp. On Monday, after the camp, we spent the rest of the day at the Provo Beach Resort. Jonas loves this place! He used to do all the activities there, but now he does his hour on the Flow Rider then spends the rest of the time either bowling or playing laser tag (mostly laser tag).
Tuesday was a little less exciting. Jonas attended the taekwondo camp then we had Beau for the rest of the day. After Beau left, we considered going to a movie, but there wasn't really any movie he wanted to watch so we decided our activity would be to make chocolate chip cookies and start a Mission Impossible movie marathon (in preparation for the release of the next movie in May).
Wednesday we got to hang out with Carter and Everly. We decided to go to the Hive in the morning. All the kids loved jumping, running, and hanging out together. That afternoon, the Tanners came over for a sleepover. Carter and Everly were just as excited to see Addie as Jonas was to see the rest of the boys. Jonas spent the rest of the night hanging out with the cousins. They jumped on the trampoline, built forts, and had epic Nerf battles. The party rolled into the next day when the boys decided to assemble the ax throwing target I got Jonas for Easter (Happy early Easter to him) to add to the fun.
Friday was our last day. We decided to try something we've never done before. I took Jonas to the Quarry where you spent a good 2 hours climbing! I got to belay while Jonas ascended several courses. He did an awesome job...and were exhausted by the end. We grabbed some lunch with Jeff then went to a movie. We were originally going to see the Minecraft movie, but it was sold out so Jonas reluctantly agreed to watch the live action Snow White with me. (He wasn't super excited but agreed that it was ok in the end.)
I couldn't believe how quickly Spring Break flew by. The final weekend of Spring Break was General Conference. It was nice to slow things down a bit and listen to messages of love, hope, peace, and goodness. In between sessions, Jonas still enjoyed tossing the ax with whomever would join him. On Sunday, we also celebrated Laurin's birthday. It was a nice way to cap off a great week!
