CAKe: Act 12

We did it! Another year and another 12 Christmas acts of kindness. We rounded out our dozen acts with the boys' favorite - the drive thru. Just like in years past, the boys each donated a certain amount of money to our envelope and off we went to spread some kindness (and fill our bellies). We made it through 7 drive thrus (Freedom Subs, Mo Beth's, Taco Bell, Sip 'N Spot, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, and Cafe Rio) this year before finally giving the rest of the cash to the gentleman at the final drive thru window. We were just too stuffed to order any more foods from any other drive thrus...and we all felt good about giving that man a sizable tip. We probably could have hit two or three more, but after about an hour and a half and over a half dozen establishments, we called it quits. I still love to see the smiles on the employees faces as they get to assist us in spreading Christmas cheer. I love to wonder about the cars' occupants behind us that receive our act of kindness. Did they have a rough day? Are the picking up food for themselves or their families too? What is their story? I can't believe Christmas is in 3 days! It has been another wonderful season of service.
