Today we were invited to join in Carter's birthday fun! Of course his actual birthday is on Christmas Eve, but for obvious reasons, Laurin decided to celebrate it a week early. She invited everyone to join their little family at Lowe's Xtreme Airsports then have pizza and cake at Amber's after (Amber's house was closest and most convenient). Since we were already going to be in the area, Jonas, Jeff and I went a little early to go to the hospital and place candy canes on the cars. This is always fun because we try to do it quickly so no one sees us. We're never quite successful...and this year was no different. Still, it's nice to see the smiles on people's faces when they receive the candy cane. If the candy cane gets tossed or if it gets eaten, we never really know, but what we do know is that someone received a little gift and a little note to spread some kindness.
Once we finished, we headed to Lowe's. I'm not really sure Carter had any clue that we were doing all of this for him, but I know he had a blast! He loves being around all our crazy chaos. The older boys had a blast too as they bounced (literally) back and forth between celebrating with Carter in the kiddie area and jumping in the big kid area. After a couple hours, we went over to Amber's where Jonas gave Carter his gift (some Hot Wheels cars and tracks) and we enjoyed pizza and cake. Carter's cute birthday theme was "Peace (with the two fingers in a V sign) on Earth". Kind of appropriate for this time of year too. We are sure grateful for this cute little boy!! He is such an example of joy and love...perhaps that's why he was born on Christmas Eve, to remind us of another little boy that brought joy and love to the world. Happy birthday little man!
