Egg Bashing!

Laurin, Amber, Jeff and I returned to Utah after a yummy Easter lunch (thanks Katie!) in Idaho Falls with the family. We left the boys with Stan and Kristi (thanks Stan and Kristi) for Spring Break. This year our Spring Breaks aligned and the boys were excited to be able to spend the time together. I think Kristi, even with two extra mouths to feed, was excited she didn't have to worry about bored boys all week long! Since the boys were away, Jeff and I were brainstorming what to do for Family Home Evening when a couple in our ward, Travis and Emily Hansen, invited us over for a fun night of egg bashing. Yes, you read right...egg bashing! Evidently, Emily's family has a tradition to color eggs then set up a tournament where two people hit their eggs together until there is only one egg left standing. (When two eggs are hit together only one will break...try it...it's true!) It was actually really fun and I think we may try to incorporate this into our own Easter traditions. A few other families/couples in our ward were invited to attend as well. Us Southwicks only made it to the second round before our eggs failed us. Still we had a blast laughing and watching as egg after egg was reduced to small cracked pieces. Here are just a few pictures from our fun evening.
