12 Days of Service: Day 3

Once we got our treats after Danny's concert, we headed to Walmart to deliver a sort of "treat" to two deserving families. Tonight's service activity was to give a gift card to two families or individuals we felt needed it the most. Prior to entering the store, we said a quick prayer and asked to be lead to those individuals or families who would most benefit or need this act of service. We then entered the store and split up. I walked with Dallin while Jeff and Jonas walked with Daniel. Dallin and I searched the whole store a couple of times before we found a mother and two children to whom we felt led. With a quick, "Merry Christmas from our family to yours.", we handed her the gift card and walked away...but not before seeing her eyes brim with tears. We found Daniel and observed him give his card to another mother and son. She too began to cry in wonderment as we bid her Merry Christmas and walked away. I don't know the circumstances these two mothers were in. I'm not sure if the money was needed, but I do know we felt led to those families and those two mothers were extremely grateful for the gift. It is truly better to give than to receive.
