Danny's 12th birthday!

I should entitle this post: Danny's 12th Birthday Weekend. We started the celebrations early! On Saturday (12/3), Danny and I went to SLC for a mom-son date. I have issued a "cooking challenge" to both boys. It's a list of things they have to learn how to do (bake bread, use a crock pot, make a recipe with more than 5 ingredients, etc.) Once they finish the challenge, I get to take them out to the restaurant of their choice. Danny busted through the challenge because he wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory during December so he could get the peppermint bark cheesecake. Well, we decided this was a good way to start his birthday weekend. It was fun spending the day together. We enjoyed cheesecake, shopping, hanging out in the Apple Store and wandering around City Creek.

Sunday we invited family over for dinner and dessert. He wanted spaghetti with homemade marinara sauce, homemade meatballs, garlic breadsticks, and more cheesecake for dessert. It was delicious! However, I think his favorite part of the evening was opening the cash filled cards. The boy loves money!

Monday was his actual birthday. The morning started with a french toast breakfast (his choice). For lunch, I picked him up and we went to Chick-fil-A. He then got to share/....with his class. All in all, I would say it was a successful birthday weekend! Happy 12th birthday!!
