12 Days of Service: Day 2

Today's service involved family history and temple work. We headed to Salt Lake City where Dallin and Jeff (Amber couldn't join us because of a choir commitment) spent time serving in the temple and Danny and I did a little family history research in the family history library. This was Dallin's first time in the Salt Lake temple and he loved it. Danny was a little bummed that he couldn't go inside yet, but really enjoyed reading stories about our ancestors in the Family History Library.

After our service opportunities, we went to City Creek Center to grab some dinner before enjoying the lights at Temple Square. I grew up near the Mesa Arizona LDS temple. I loved seeing the temple lights each year. There's just something about seeing lights at a place dedicated to the Light of the World - our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was the perfect Saturday evening - family, service, and Christmas.

This is my favorite tree. I am amazed how each little branch is covered in lights.
