Glenwood Springs: Adventure Park

Today our adventures took us to a park literally called the Adventure Park. In this area of Colorado there are many caves. About 15 years ago a couple individuals purchased some caves high up on this mountainside bordering Glenwood Springs. Over the next few years, they sold tickets for cave tours, which eventually lead to the establishment of the park. Now there is a zipline, alpine coaster, Ferris wheel, roller coaster, canyon swing (this insane swing that shoots you out over the canyon ledge 1,300 feet high), laser tag, 4D movie, and more. It is a small park, but lots of fun. Jeff and I loved it because it wasn't crowded either. We bought an all-day pass that allowed us unlimited access to all the rides, plus tours of each of the caves. I think the alpine coaster and canyon swing were everyone's favorites! But Jeff also liked the cool escape into the caves. All in all everyone seemed to enjoy the "adventures". (WARNING: There are TONS of pictures. I can't help it! When you have a family as cute as mine it's hard to stop!)
Dallin was excited he was finally tall enough to ride all the rides!
We took a tram up to the top of the mountain where the park was at. Gorgeous views!

I love this picture!

Laurin smoked us all!

Even though Laurin is making her usual silly face, I wanted to include this photo so you can see how far the swing shoots you out!
We spent about seven hour at the adventure park before we decided we'd had enough "adventures". We got back to the hotel around dinner time. The kids immediately got into their swimsuits while Jeff and I ran out to get some pizza for everyone. Jeff and I also decided to take advantage of the time away to have a mini-date. We hiked up to Doc Holliday's grave (which is one claim to fame Glenwood Springs has) then found a candy shop that sold some fudge. Yum!! We did eventually make it back to the hotel with pizza. It was a great second day!
